This version of Molière’s Le Malade imaginaire is an adaptation of the original Seventeenth Century French play. It is an adaptation set in Molière’s 17th century world, but one in which the people speak not too differently from people in our own time.
This version allows a modern audience to enjoy Molière’s brilliant play without having to peer through the accreted dust and discolourings of passing time and changing culture but still with insights into the medical profession which are as relevant, and amusing, now as they were when they play was first written.
